In recent years, hydrogen has been increasingly recognized as a renewable and/or low-carbon energy source for applications such as the food industry, metal processing and production, power generation, and the pharmaceutical and electronics sectors.
Thanks to various production methods including natural gas reforming, gasification, electrolysis, and emerging technologies hydrogen is readily available and, depending on the application, must be compressed and treated to reach the required pressure and quality.
